Become famous on youtube for your interpretation of an important work of literature!  

In this assignment, you will recreate a work of literature as a Youtube-like video. You are creating a result that would be suitable for all audiences. Your topic choices include any of the novels we’ve read, as well as works by authors discussed in cultural literacy. In addition, your presentation consist of student-led informational speeches. This assignment will fulfill your research component and your informational speech component Your video will include the following:

  • Credits (beginning and end) that are appropriate and attention-getting; may include music
  • An informational foreword or introduction, wherein you will demonstrate research you have done (2+ in-text citations). Include items about author, story, audience, or other relavant information.
  • A book / story of no less than 2 minutes and no more than 10 minutes, or approximately 2-10 pages of normal 12-point font script writing
  • Video is used to enhance the reading and comprehension of the story
  • References to works cited, including citations for images. Parenthetical citations in verbal text. A works cited page for the introduction with at least two sources. Use Easybib to help you with MLA formating.

 

Research can come from:

  • the text you are summarizing or investigating
  • an article about the story, topic, or author
  • a review of the text
  • a film
  • a personal interview
  • The Dictionary of Cultural Literacy
  • any source that helps you to explain or tell the story
